JPD Studio’s creative director, Jessica Perilla, will be an instructor of Dreamweaver at New York City’s School of Visual Arts this semester. Jessica has also been an instructor for the Dreamweaver course in Spanish these past two years as part of SVA’s “Hablas Diseño” program.
During this informative and fun course, Jessica will instruct students how to create a website with Adobe Dreamweaver, an intuitive and straight forward industry standard in web design software. Dreamweaver allows for the direct creation and editing capabilities of HTML web pages without forcing users to do any hard coding themselves. In this course, Jessica, who is an SVA alumna, will instruct her students how to save images properly for the web, how to use web-safe colors in design elements, and use Dreamweaver to create and save HTML pages. The course will begin with topics such as setting up and editing preferences, site definitions, text, images and links. The class will learn how to use tables, AP elements and iFrames to control placement of elements and links on pages. Other topics that will be covered include JavaScript behaviors and cascading style sheets (CSS); how to add short movies and sound files and upload the site to a server. Each student will complete a functioning website, which will be critiqued by Jessica during the last session.
The class starts this Thursday, September 24 and runs through December 17, 2009, from 6-10pm. To register please call 212.592.2200 or for more information visit www.sva.edu.
